Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch and we’ll happily talk you through it.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We carry full public liability insurance to protect you, your dog and our carers.
Are your carers DBS checked?
All of our carers are fully DBS checked and carefully selected before joining our team.
Do you use kennels?
No. Wag & Wharf is a home-based service. Dogs stay in comfortable, carefully selected home environments — never in kennels or cages.
Will my dog be left alone?
Dogs in home boarding receive attentive, round-the-clock care and are not routinely left alone. If a short absence is unavoidable, we discuss this openly with you in advance.
Can you care for a dog that cannot live with other dogs?
Yes. Dogs that need their own space can be considered for our exclusive dog-free household boarding, subject to assessment and availability.
How do you match dogs with carers?
We assess each dog’s temperament, routine, medical needs and social preferences, then match them with the most appropriate carer and household.
Do you offer a free meet and greet?
Yes. Every new client receives a complimentary meet and greet so you, your dog and the carer can get comfortable before any booking is confirmed.
How many dogs are included in a group walk?
Groups are intentionally kept small. Dogs are matched by temperament, size and walking style rather than filling a fixed number.
Can you care for reactive or nervous dogs?
Often yes, subject to assessment. Reactive, nervous, elderly or medically vulnerable dogs can be considered for exclusive-care households.
Can you administer medication?
Yes. Routine oral and topical medications can be administered following your written instructions and the guidance of your vet.
Will I receive photos and updates?
Yes. Owners receive regular photos, videos and updates during walks, visits and overnight stays.
What happens in an emergency?
We record your emergency contact and veterinary practice at the outset and follow a clear escalation procedure if your dog needs urgent attention.
Do you accept puppies?
Yes, subject to assessment. Puppies need shorter visits, more frequent toilet breaks and a gentler pace, which we tailor accordingly.
Do dogs need to be vaccinated?
Yes. Dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations, flea and worming treatment before boarding or daycare.
What information must I provide before boarding?
You will complete a Home Boarding Assessment covering routine, behaviour, medical and veterinary information so we can plan appropriate care.
Do you offer trial stays?
Yes. Trial stays are recommended for longer bookings and for dogs new to home boarding.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are shared with your booking confirmation. Deposits for peak-period and overnight bookings may be non-refundable.
Do you charge more on public holidays?
Weekend and public-holiday supplements may apply. Christmas, New Year and other peak-period rates are quoted separately.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible — especially for holiday periods. Home boarding is subject to availability and suitability.
Which locations do you cover?
Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs, Greenwich, Blackheath, Deptford, Lewisham, Surrey Quays, Canada Water, Poplar, Limehouse, Charlton, Kidbrooke and surrounding areas of East and South East London.
